"The Royal Hibiscus Hotel": Zainab Balogun talks what to expect from upcoming romantic comedy
Zainab Balogun describes "The Royal Hibiscus Hotel" as one suitable for the Valentine's season.
Zainab Balogun has shared what viewers can expect from upcoming romantic comedy, "The Royal Hibiscus Hotel."
During an interview with Pulse Nigeria, the actress who plays lead role in the EbonyLife Film, describes the movie as suitable for the Valentine season.
The actress also spoke about the difficulty that came with playing Ope, a chef, who falls in love with the business man in talks to buy her inheritance, The Royal Hibiscus Hotel.

Balogun, who featured in "The Wedding Party" - the highest grossing Nollywood movie - as Wonu, also told Pulse that she doesn't have any particular number in mind regarding the commercial success of the upcoming movie.
"I think the last person [Journalist] asked me: "do you think this movie is going to do better than "The Wedding Party?," she told Pulse.
And I said to her: These are two different kinds of movies for two different types of audiences."
According to the actress, the movie which will make its debut this Valentine's Day weekend will cater to Nigerians in search of something warm.
"It's a season of love when people do go to cinema a lot, and they are looking for that feel of warmth. And I think that's what you [the audience] are going to get from this.
The actress described her experience on set of the movie as extremely pleasant, adding that the only challenge she had to deal with was cooking for the camera.
"I like to cook, but cooking on camera is different to just cooking in your house," she told Pulse.
About "The Royal Hibiscus Hotel" movie
The movie is about a Nigerian couple who run a hotel in Nigeria.
In desperation, the husband, Segun decides to sell the hotel without his wife’s knowledge, as a way of settling all their debts.
When their daughter (Ope) decides to return to Nigeria for a vacation, her Dad wants her to sign the papers to sell the hotel she is destined to inherit, while her mom can’t wait to marry her off to a charming property developer, Deji.
When daughter meets Deji by accident, she has no idea that he has made the deal to buy the hotel. Just as she is finally falling for Deji, despite much resistance, she learns the truth and is devastated.

The movie is directed by Ishaya Bako and stars Balogun alongside Deyemi Okanlawon, Kenneth Okolie, Akah Nnani, Kemi Lala Akindoju among others.
It had its world premiere at the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival.
Pulse Nigeria recently listed Zainab Balogun as one of the actors to watch out for in 2018.
Her other works include the critically acclaimed "Ojukokoro, the anticipated TV series "Bankers NGR," and the powerful short film, "Verdict."
