Beat The Street Event: Nigerian wrestlers to compete in New York City

Nigeria has been invited to participate at the Beat The Street Event in New York.

A group of Nigerian wrestlers have been selected to represent the country at the upcoming Beat The Street Event.

President of the Nigerian Wrestling Federation (NWF) Daniel Igali revealed the participation of the Nigerian wrestlers via a message on his official Twitter handle.

The president revealed that the Beat The Street Event will take place in New York, United States.

He also revealed that the competition is expected to take place in May 2018, however he did not reveal the names of the wrestlers that will represent Nigeria at the international event.

The message on his Twitter handle said, "I can confirm that on invitation from USA Wrestling, a select group of Nigerian female wrestlers will participate at the Beat The Street Event in New York City in May, 2018."

 

The Beat The Street Event is a wrestling initiative fashioned to positively promote the sport of wrestling among youth in New York., it also involves other events.

The Nigerian wrestling body were recently successful at the African wrestling Championship hosted in Rivers State.

The president of the federation may not have revealed the name of the wrestlers that will participate at the event, however it is expected that Nigeria will summon its top wrestlers such as Blessing Oburududu and Odunayo Adekuoroye for the invitational competition.
