Super Eagles: Stephen Eze performs initiation rites, Victor Moses arrives in camp
Eze performed a Christian worship song in front of Super Eagles players.
Super Eagles defender Stephen Eze on Wednesday, March 21 performed his initiation rites at the team’s base at the Radisson Blu Hotel while Victor Moses has finally arrived to join the squad in Wroclaw ahead of the friendly game against Poland on Friday, March 23.
Eze is a first-time call-up to the Super Eagles after his impressive outing for Nigeria at the 2018 African Nations Championship (CHAN) in Morocco and securing a move to Bulgarian side Lokomotiv Plovdiv.
As a ritual with the Super Eagles and in football in general, new additions to the squad are required to stand before their teammates and perform a song as part of their initiation.
During dinner after training on Wednesday, Ogenyi Onazi, a senior player in the squad brought the former Kano Pillars defender to stand on a chair in front of the players and told him to introduce himself and perform a song.
The defender introduced himself and performed a Christian worship song to the delight of his teammates.
Moses arrives
According to several reports, Chelsea star Moses has arrived in Wroclaw to join up with the Super Eagles ahead of the friendly game on Friday.
The Chelsea player was expected early on Tuesday but reports suggest that he showed up on Tuesday night.
Oddly, however, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have not confirmed his arrival as they had done with other players.
The Super Eagles trained twice on Wednesday and it was in the evening session that they received Nike officials who visited to get feedback on the new jerseys.
After dinner, the Super Eagles had a little music session and were treated to piano performances from one of the Super Eagles coaches and Onazi.
