Omoni Oboli has released the official trailer "Wives on Strike (The Series)," a small screen adaptation of the successful "Wives on Strike" movie.

Omoni  Oboli has released the trailer for "Wives on Strike The Series," a small screen adaptation of the 2016 movie of same name.

The trailer features original cast members Omoni Oboli, Kenneth Okonkwo, Julius Agu, Chioma Chukwuka, Uche Jombo, Ufuoma McDermot and Kehinde Bankole.

Newcomers include Wofai Dada, Sambasa Nzeribe and Mercy Aigbe.

 

In 2017, Oboli told Pulse that the 2016 movie, which inspired the 2017 sequel "Wives on Strike: The Revolution," is a gift that keeps giving.

With both films, Oboli took on issues that are imperative; domestic violence and child bride. Both films explore these themes via the lives of a group of market women, who unite for a cause.

The original movie was a hit at the box office, grossing 15 million naira in three days and completing its cinema run with 71 million naira.

"Wives on Strike The Series" is helmed by Oboli, who is popular for "Being Mrs Elliott," "Okafor's Law" and "The First Lady."

Small screen adaptations of big screen stories is fast becoming big business in Nollywood. Other movies that have received the TV treatment are "Fifty" and "Jenifa's Diary."

There's no release date attached to the TV series yet.
