APC-V holds special prayers for Tinubu at 66

A group, APC Volunteers (APC-V), has held a special prayer session for All Progressives Congress leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, who clocked 66 last week.

The event held at the LTV 8, Blue Roof, Lagos.

Lagos State branch Chairman of the group, Akeem Atupa, expressed happiness to have an icon and enigma of Asiwaju’s caliber as progenitor, “who as the architect of modern Lagos, laid the structures for the new beginning.”

Badagry coordinator of the group, Solomon Zosu, of APC-V said: “The ideological tenets of welfarism, populism, egalitarianism and progressiveness which Asiwaju not only professes but religiously practices are getting further entrenched and accepted in the political curricula of Nigeria.”

He added: “His approach of politics without bitterness, objectivity and analysis of issues without extraneous considerations of class, creed, race or religion has endeared him to not a few Nigerians.”

The group also endorsed Lagos State governor Akinwunmi Ambode for second term.

It said the endorsement was based on “Ambode’s unimaginable performance and commendable zeal for developmental projects that were visible in every nook and cranny of the state.”

It urged all residents to get their voter’s cards ready before commencement of the 2019 general elections to enable them vote.

How Nigerians can be happy, by foundation

Nigerians can be happy by working for the progress of others and avoiding self-interest, The Way To Happiness Foundation International (Nigeria) has stated.

Its president, Professor Magnus Atilade, said those who are truly happy in life derive joy from helping others to achieve their goals.

He spoke at the inauguration of the foundation and presentation of a book The way to happiness in Lagos.

The inauguration coincided with celebration of the 2018 UN International Day of Happiness.

Presenting a five-way path to happiness, Atilade said Nigerians must learn to take good care of their health and well as eat balanced diets.

He further stated they must get rest and maintain cleanliness in their environments as well.

Happiness, he said, is fundamental to national progress and productivity.

According to him: “A happy person will be more active and productive. He will feel better as the physical and spiritual aspects of life will be balanced and harmonised.”

Atilade also admonished Nigerians to free their hearts from bitterness and their minds from worries.

Happiness, he added, also emanates from leading simple lives by expecting less.

“We have to forget self and take life less seriously. We should fill our lives with love and learn to sing to lighten the spirit,” he stressed.

He charged government to work towards providing the basic necessities of life for Nigeria to foster happiness.
