"Acrimony": This is what cast of a Nollywood version would look like, according to Twitter users

Here's what the Nollywood version of Acrimony would look like

According to Twitter users, this is what the cast of "Acrimony" would look like if the Tyler Perry film was made by Nollywood.

Who would you cast for a Nollywood version of the Tyler Perry movie, "Acrimony?"

Twitter user YourFavOnlineDoctor asked his followers to recast the trending "Acrimony" movie with Nigerian actors.

In his tweet, he suggests that Adesua Etomi is cast as Melinda, the aggrieved wife, who feels betrayed by her ex-husband and decides to take revenge.

He chooses OC Ukeje to play the role of Melinda's husband, Robert, who gets his big break after their divorce, thanks Melinda for her support, and to show gratitude for the years she spent by him, gives her $10 million dollars.

Finally, he cast Beverly Naya as Diana, Robert's side-chick who eventually becomes his fiancée.

YourFaveOnlineDoctor's tweet received several retweets and comments.

Some Twitter users think Funke Akindele, who has been occasionally likened to Taraji P Henson's "Empire" character, "Cookie," would make a perfect Melinda.

Some others think Nse Ikpe-Etim, who has in the past brought life to dramatic, 'crazy' and feisty characters, would be a perfect cast.

Other actresses who were suggested include Kate Henshaw, Bimbo Akintola and Uche Jombo.

Nollywood actor Ayoola, who is popular for his charismatic interpretation of the character Mide in "Skinny Girl in Transit", was cast as the husband, Robert.

Other actors who were suggested for the role by Twitter users include Enyinna Nwigwe, Kenneth Okolie,  Bolanle Ninolowo, Femi Jacobs, Joseph Benjamin and Kunle Remi.

For the role of Diana, some Twitter users cast Dorcas Shola Fapson, Beverly Naya, Zainab Balogun, Omoni Oboli, Toyin Aimakhu and Damilola Adegbite.

However, Pulse Instagram followers have very different casting ideas that include Genevieve Nnaji and Rita Dominic

"Acrimony" tells the story of Melinda Moore, a faithful and hardworking wife who supports her husband, Robert, an engineer and dreamer pushing a launch of his invention. However, their marriage ends just before he hits it big with the rechargeable battery he spent decades inventing.

Months after the movie was released in Nigeria in March, "Acrimony" started a trending conversation on Twitter in July, with users asking the question: Who exactly is to blame in Acrimony? Melinda? Robert? Melinda's family?

Perry had reacted to the trending conversation, saying that he is happy that the film has opened up conversations about 'healing anger, betrayal, and moving on, or literately drowning in your own pain.'

If Nollywood was to make its version of "Acrimony," who would you cast?
