Future Eagles: Nigeria beat Algeria 2-0 in qualify for African Youth Games final

The Future Eagles will play Morocco in the final of the 2018 Africa Youth Games.

Nigeria’s U-15 team, Future Eagles beat hosts Algeria 2-0 on Wednesday, July 25 to advance  to the final of the 2018 African Youth Games (AYG).

The Future Eagles beat Morocco 3-2 in their opening encounter a game they had to come down from two goals to seal victory.

The Future Eagles were faced with a difficult task to overcome the competition hosts who had massive home support.

The breakthrough for the Future Eagles came from the penalty spot which Adeleke Tobi converted early.

The Future Eagles sealed the result with their second goal of the game through John Mark Shirsha.

The Coach Danladi Nasidi tutored side built their confidence at the tournament progressed and corrected the errors of the first game.

A much improved performance from the Future Eagles saw them defeat Djibouti 5-0 in their second group stage fixture.

The result meant the Future Eagles were through to the next round of the football event at the African Youth Games.

Lateef Omidiji who turned down the U.S.A for Nigeria is yet to open his account for the Future Eagles but provided two assists in their opening game.

Future Eagles to play Morocco in final

The Future Eagles will take on Morocco in the final of the 2018 African Youth Games.

The Moroccans won the other semifinal game of the competition to set up a final with the Future Eagles.

Morocco beat Cameroon 3-2 in the other semifinal played at the Sidi Moussa Stadium.

The third place match will be contested between the two semifinal losers Algeria and Cameroon.

The Future Eagles will have a chance to defend their title when they play in the final game of the tournament against Morocco scheduled for Saturday, July 28.
