Everton set record as they use ladies team to model away strip for new season.
Everton are the first Premier League outfit that to unveil a kit for a new season with the Ladies team.
The Toffees unveiled their new away kit for the 2018/19 football season with the Ladies team on Thursday, July 19.
The new away kit is manufactured by international sport wear giants Umbro.
The choice to use the ladies team in the modelling and unveiling of the attire came, as a result, the clubs pledge to Women in Football.
Star players of the Everton Ladies team, including Chloe Kelly, Megan Finnigan, Danielle Turner and Kirsty Levell all were present in the pictures released by the club.
The new kit will be worn by the Ladies team, U-23 and the men's team for the new season.
Umbro decided to go for a blend of black, with flashes of bright pink on the edges and badge.
Captain of the Everton Ladies Danielle Turner revealed that she is honoured to be a part of the unveiling by the Ladies team which is a first in the Premier League.
She said, “I am delighted to be a part of this ground-breaking and inspirational campaign. This is a kit that any Evertonian would be proud to wear.
“To have the chance to not only debut it alongside my teammates, but to be the first women's team to be given this opportunity, is a real reflection of Everton's one club philosophy and their commitment to growing the profile of the women's game.”
Everton centre forward Cenk Tosun also stated that he is delighted with the design of the kit.
He said, "I'm a big fan of the kit, the colours will really make us stand out and I will be looking forward to pulling on the shirt for the first time for our friendly against Porto.
"I know the Everton Ladies will be wearing the kit in their game against Liverpool earlier that day, so hopefully the kit will see both sides kick off a successful away run."
The Everton Ladies will launch the jersey when they face off with Liverpool on Sunday, July 21 while the first team will also debut it on the same day in their friendly against Porto after a 22-0 win in their last fixture.
