William Troost-Ekong: Super Eagles defender welcomes baby boy Oscar
The Super Eagles defender announced the arrival of his baby on his social media accounts.
Super Eagles defender William Troost-Ekong and his partner have welcomed their new born baby named Oscar.
The 24-year-old defender confirmed the birth of his child on his official Instagram account as he posted a picture of him and his son along with a message.
The message said; "Our beautiful boy, Oscar Ekong 24-07-2018."
The post confirmed that Oscar arrived on Tuesday, July 24 but did not give any additional information about the birth.
It was in April that the 24-year-old first announced that he and his partner were expecting a baby. It was also on social media that he first revealed the news.
"We can’t wait to meet you!” he wrote on an Instagram photo of his partner whose baby bump was obvious.
In Super Eagles last game at home before he 2018 World Cup-a 1-1 draw against DR Congo in port Harcourt- he scored and celebrated by putting the ball under his shirt, a football old style of paying tribute to pregnant partners.
Ekong and his partner have reportedly been in a relationship for over four years and not much is known about her.
The defender is obviously smitten by his girlfriend and often times share her photos on his Instagram page. In an interview in 2016 revealed that he is very committed to his partner.
“I really appreciate her. She is a great support for me and knows me better than anyone else,” he said in an interview with blogger, Linda Ikeji.
Troost-Ekong was born Born in the Netherlands but represents the represents Nigeria at international level.
He is a middle child of his parents with a younger brother who is 19 and an elder sister who is 25.
