Iwobi plays different roles in a new commercial and gets chase by bad guys in one of them.
Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi had to evade some bad guys as he got the chase as an action star in a new commercial.
In a new commercial for DSTV, Iwobi played different roles to explore the intrigue, passion, discovery and suspense that is available on the Compact bouquet of the Pay TV.
The commercial starts off with the Arsenal star walking on the road while being approached by a fan for a selfie. The fan turns into Iwobi before his bumps into a guy who is running away from some tough-looking guys.
As the guy turns into Iwobi, the football star picks up the pace as he tries to evade the bad guys.
He runs into a boutique and hides but a villain-looking man enters the shop and shows the owner a photo of Iwobi, asking her is she saw the football star is hiding in her shop.
The owner of the shop played by Nigerian actress Somkele Iyamah denies knowing the whereabouts of Iwobi before the commercial goes into another scene.
Importance of choices
The Nigerian football star is seen skating, running and playing the guitar in other scenes of the commercial which tells the importance of choices.
“It’s always about choices. As people, we make choices every single day, and the choices we make play a huge role in shaping who we become in future,” General Manager Sales and Marketing, MultiChoice, Martin Mabutho said in a statement.
“Alex Iwobi is who he is today because of some of the brilliant choices he made in the past; taking up his uncle’s mantle by juggling a football, to signing with top football club, Arsenal FC.
"The power of fun & affordability defines Compact and with over 120 channels, our customers are spoilt for choice with front row live football action from the Premier League, Serie A, La Liga and perfectly picked local drama series, action movies and other lifestyle channels.”
Iwobi shoot the commercial in Lagos in July after representing Nigeria at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
