“After the movie, I was to be paid 1% of the profit made from the movie. They told me it’s in the bank but I am yet to see the money” - Emmanuel Nii Adom Quaye.

Ghanaian actor, Emmanuel Nii Adom Quaye, popularly known for his role as Strika in the 2015 Netflix film, "Beast of No Nation," says he is yet to receive any fee for his role in the film.

According to Quaye, who currently begs on the streets of Ghana for survival, he was paid $30,000 for his role in the film -  which he says represents 1% of the film's profit - but he was told by a certain producer - Kofi Robert - that the money is being kept in a bank account for him until he turns 18.

“After the movie, I was to be paid 1% of the profit made from the movie. They told me it’s in the bank but I am yet to see the money,” he said during an interview with GHOne TV.

Talking about his relationship with his "Beasts of No Nation" co-star, Abraham Attah - Agu - the actor said it has not been the same since the former relocated to America.

“The way he now behaves is not good. The way he talks; the way he replies is not good. He will be shouting on you and all stuff, I don’t know if it’s because he has travelled outside," he said.

Since their roles in "Beasts of No Nation," Abraham Attah has starred alongside Tom Holland in "Spider-Man: Homecoming."

He was also an award presenter at the 2016 Academy Awards, alongside “Room’s” actor, Jacob Tremblay.

Quaye also spoke about his role in another film titled "Jungle Justice," for which he was paid ¢10,000. According to Quaye, a talent manger named Mawuko used the money to buy him clothes and shoes without consulting him.

“Mawuko used the money to buy suits and other things the money was not given to me directly; I was only told," he said.

In "Beasts of No Nation," Quaye plays an NDF child soldier, who rarely speaks.
