Formula One: Vettel wins Belgian Grand Prix to cut Hamilton’s world championship lead

With this win, Vettel is now 17 points off Hamilton in the world championships stand.

German racer Sebastian Vettel on Sunday, August 25 won the Belgian Grand Prix to cut Lewis Hamilton's world championship lead to 17 points.

Ferrari’s Vettel finished in 1hr 26mins 50.253seconds in the race that saw Fernando Alonso’s McLaren crash with Charles Leclerc’s Sauber before wrecking at the side of the track.

 

Hamilton was lead at one point albeit briefly before he surrendered his pole position.

With this win, Vettel is now 17 points off Hamilton in the world championships stand.

This also the fifth win of the season for the German and the 52nd of his career.
