Jose Mourinho: Manchester United boss faces sack against Burnley
Manchester United are reportedly willing to part ways with Jose Mourinho after another defeat.
Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is reportedly facing the sack if his team lose to Burnley in their next Premier League fixture.
The 55-year-old suffered a difficult 3-0 defeat to title contenders Tottenham Hotspur which makes it consecutive losses after a previous defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion.
According to several reports, the Manchester United boss has discord with certain players in the dressing room and the club are willing to make do of his excuses.
Manchester United have three points from their opening three games and according to a report by the Daily Mail, another defeat to Burnley is their next fixture could be the last straw for the board to sack him.
The report states that Mourinho can be shown the exit door in a bid not to recreate the toxic atmosphere that he had during his second spell at Chelsea.
The report states that with Zinedine Zidane available after quitting at Real Madrid, the Manchester United hierarchy are willing to take advantage of the opportunity before more clubs develop an interest in the French man.
The report said, “They are saying Jose will be gone soon. Some think he’ll be out if they lose at Burnley. Others can’t see him lasting beyond September.
'We’ve seen this before and it just feels the same. The club will say it’s supporting Jose but we all saw what happened with Louis. The players are already talking about the possibility of Zidane coming in."
Mourinho signed a bumper £15million-a-year contract last season and will be difficult to get the sack, but the report states that Manchester United will rather part ways with the Portuguese manager now than wait until the club returns to its time under former manager David Moyes before dismissing him.
The club are struggling to get the best out of star players Romelu Lukaku, Alexis Sanchez, while youngster Anthony Martial is said not to be impressed with the Portuguese style of management.
The game against Burnley is now a must win for United now after consecutive losses as they aim to get more points before the players go for the international break.
The game between Burnley and Manchester United will take place on Sunday, September 2 at Turf Moor.
