Kanu Nwankwo: Super Eagles legend to unveil finalist of FIFA Best awards
Kanu will join Sol Campbell, Peter Schmeichel and Kelly Smith in announcing the finalist for the FIFA Best awards.
Super Eagles legend Nwankwo Kanu is among the legends that will unveil the finalist of the 2018 FIFA Best awards.
The 42-year-old who is among the great exports from Nigeria was named along side retired superstars Sol Campbell, Peter Schmeichel and Kelly Smith.
Kanu participated in the legend programme for the 2018 FIFA World Cup where he was attached to the Nigerian team.
He had a fruitful spell in the English Premier League with Arsenal, Portsmouth and West Bromwich Albion.
FIFA announced the legends who will unveil the nominees for the awards through a message on its official Twitter account.
"Confirmed: FIFA Legends to take part in Monday’s #TheBest awards finalists announcement in London,"the message read.
The World football governing body earlier announced the a ten man short list for the various award categories.
Kanu and the legends will announce the three finalist in each category on Monday, September 3 in London.
The main award ceremony is scheduled to return to London on Monday, September, 24 and Kanu's former colleague Emmanuel Amuneke among the judges to select the eventual winners.
