Madrid president Florentino Perez has a reputation of bringing overcoming difficult negotiations to bring the best players in the World to the Santiago Bernabeu however both the camps of Salah and Kane were able to resist the temptation of the three-time consecutive UEFA Champions League winners.

In a report by Spanish media outlet El Pais, there was interest from Real Madrid for both Kane and Salah but were rebuffed.

The report reveals that Salah and his representatives were approached for a possible switch after his record-breaking season at Anfield, the Egypt international responded by signing a new deal which made him Liverpool’s highest player ever.

As for Kane, there was interest following another impressive season for Tottenham, however, following the acquisitions of Luka Modric and Gareth Bale from the North London club, Perez knew it was a gigantic task as he also recently signed a new contract.

The report states that there was an enquiry but that only an offer in the excess of 300 million euros will lure the English man away.

Other targets considered were Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar but he signed for the French champions from Barcelona just last season.

It remains to be seen if Real Madrid will make a late attempt to swoop for a superstar before the close of the transfer window but Salah and Kane are out of bounds with the English transfer season also concluded.
