Disney paid $10,000 for Tessa Thompson's wig in Thor Ragnarok

The wig worn by Tessa Thompson in Thor: Ragnarok cost $10,000, an equivalent of 3.6 million naira.

Disney paid $10,000 for Tessa Thompson's wig in "Thor: Ragnarok."

According to a report by Huff Post, Thompson needed the costly wig for reshoots while at the same time shooting the recently released film, "Sorry to Bother You."

While "Sorry to Bother You" required her to rock a short, neon orange curls, "Thor Ragnarok," which had wrapped shoot in 2016, required long, dark hair.

In order to work on both films simultaneously, the director of "Sorry to Bother You" asked Disney to make Thompson a film that cost $10,000 - an equivalent of 3.6 million Naira.

Riley eventually apologized to the director of "Thor," Taika Watiti," who said he wasn't angry. “He was like, ‘It’s not my money!’” Riley told Huff Post.

In "Thor: Ragnarok," Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok – the destruction of his homeworld.

In the superhero film, Thompson played Valkyrie, a hard-drinking Asgardian slave trader, who was once a legendary warrior of the Valkyrior.

With a $180 million budget, "Ragnarok" grossed $854 million.
