Edgal to policemen: Shun partisan conducts
Assures of adequate security as APC Lagos holds primaries
Lagos Police Commissioner Imohimi Edgal has warned cops in the state to avoid being partisan and ensure adherence to due diligence throughout the governorship primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the State.
He warned that any policeman found meddling in politics would face severe sanctions, adding that he would meet with Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) and Area Commanders again for the purpose of the primaries.
Edgal also assured residents of security, adding that Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) and Area Commanders have been put on notice to ensure regular patrols on Saturday.
The governorship primaries would hold across all wards and Local Government/Council Development Areas of the state.

In a statement signed by the command’s spokesman Chike Oti, a Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), Edgal urged party faithfuls to be law-abiding, avoid actions that could the process and endanger peace.
He advised aspirants to talk to their supporters on the need to shin violence, warning that the police would arrest and prosecute anyone caught in acts that could breach public peace.
“The command, as usual, will refrain from any partisan practice and urges its men and officers not to compromise the credible conduct of the exercise. The CP stresses that severe punishment will be meted out to any policeman who meddles in the election.
“The CP enjoins the public to promptly alert the police to any act that may threaten the credible and peaceful conduct of the exercise,” said Oti.
