Boston Red Sox beat LA Dodgers to clinch 9th World Series title

Boston Red Sox are the new World Series champions after beating Los Angeles Dodgers 5-1 in Game Five to warm up the victor in a fantastic season for the team.

Their Sunday night 5-1 win over the LA Dodgers caps a remarkable season for the Red Sox who finished the MLB season with a record 108 wins.

 

The Red Sox won four of the five-match final to clinch the title, the ninth in their 117-year history.

Steve Pearce was named World Series MVP after two home runs

“Baseball is a funny game, great things can happen and I am very blessed to be here right now,' said Pearce, who has played for every team in the American League East,” Pearce is quoted to say by Daily Mail.

 

“This is the best feeling in my life. This is what you grow up wishing that you could be a part of, something like this. With that special group of guys out there, to celebrate with them, that was awesome.”
