Iheanacho got the sticks for his awful performance in Super Eagles 1-1 draw against South Africa.

Kelechi Iheanacho became the number two trending topic on Twitter Nigeria as he failed to impress as Nigerians reacted to Super Eagles 1-1 draw against South Africa on Saturday, November 17.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria played out a 1-1 draw with South Africa in Johannesburg in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier.

Despite the draw, the one point gotten from the game was enough to guarantee Nigeria a top-two finish in Group E which means they are through to AFCON 2019.

As Nigerians reacted to the game on Twitter, Iheanacho received a lot of sticks for his performance in the game.

The Leicester City forward played 69 minutes before he was taken off but he didn’t impress Nigerian who took to Twitter to lay out their criticisms.

“Dear @67Kelechi , I know you already know what I'm about to say, but I must still say it. You ain't playing well at all. You need to wake up and improve your game. Come on!” a Twitter user @harryikenna said.

I don’t know why people are complaining about Iheanacho, do you guys think that guy is a footballer. Pep Guardiola was right to sell him off immediately he became the @ManCity manager,” @temidayodaniel said.

Stop Calling up Iheanacho until he regains his form,” ‏@Donsammy_sam said.

I said it before, iheanacho’s decline is basically lack of seriousness, lack of hunger to improve his game. He is always hanging out with CDQ and all bunch of comedians anytime they re in the UK,@Shegzy90 said.

If we're honest, Iheanacho has regressed...and badly too. What happened to him?,” @ChrisTYOgu.

Kelechi Iheanacho's is to football what DJ cuppy is to music,@kingboluwatife said.

If Iheanacho fails to make up for that blunder, he should at best be resigned to the bench and limited to a squad player going forward.  He's fast turning out to becoming a flop. Disappointment every time,@larryeghosa said.

Kelechi Iheanacho has moved from a promising young footballer to a poor footballer. Completely off form and struggling at the minute,” @iamOkon wrote.

Iheanacho is not elite at all. Too unserious. He is a bigger star in his head than he actually is,@29lucidthoughts said.

I remember when Iheanacho started his career..Such a wonderful and bright prospect...very sharp up front. But today, man has so depreciated beyond imagination. Our players don't improve basically,” @Iboboii wrote.
