Ogun considers Amotekun bill Tuesday

The Ogun State Government on Monday said that a bill to provide legal backing for establishment of the Western Nigeria Security Network (WNSN) code-named Operation Amotekun has been drafted and submitted to Governor Dapo Abiodun.

The Attorney General and  Commissioner for Justice Gbolahan Adeniran disclosed this to The Nation in a telephone interview on Monday.

He said the bill is expected to be presented at Executive Council meeting on Tuesday ostensibly for deliberation.

Gbolahan also said the bill would subsequently be sent to the House of Assembly.

Ogun Speaker Kunle Oluomo said the Assembly will be granted accelerated passage once presented.
