Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye joins Dutch club Sparta Rotterdam on a 2-year deal
Okoye gets a club in Dutch top flight after leaving German club Fortuna Dusseldorf on a free.
Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye has joined Dutch club Sparta Rotterdam on a two-year deal.
Okoye’s move was confirmed by Sparta Rotterdam who announced that the deal is subject to a medical.
“Sparta Rotterdam has strengthened itself, with the exception of the medical examination, with Maduka Okoye,” the Eredivisie club said on their website.
“The twenty-year-old goalkeeper comes over from Fortuna Düsseldorf transfer-free and signs for two seasons, with an option for another two years.”

The 20-year-old goalkeeper who was born to a Nigerian father and a German mother played second fiddle at Fortuna Dusseldorf who eventually ended up getting relegated from the Bundesliga in the 2019/2020 season.
He started his career at the youth team of Bayer Leverkusen before he joined Fortuna Dusseldorf.
The goalkeeper is a Nigerian international and has only one cap for the Super Eagles.
