CAF Confederation Cup: Enyimba, Akwa United, Plateau United, MFM get next round opponents

Enyimba, Akwa United, Plateau United, and MFM are Nigeria's representatives in the CAF Confederations Cup

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) have paired Nigerian Professional Football League club sides with their opponents in the CAF Confederations Cup, Enyimba will play Bidvest Wits, Akwa United vs El Hilal, MFM vs Djoliba, Plateau United vs USM Algers.

The draws for the for the CAF clubs competitions were held in Cairo Egypt on Wednesday, March 21.

Enyimba and Akwa United progressed to the next round after winning their previous qualification matches against Energie of Benin and Al Ittihad of Libya to be part of the final draw before the group stage.

Enyimba will now have to defeat Bidvest Wits of South Africa, while Akwa Utd will have to beat another Northern side EL Hilal of Sudan to progress to the group stage.

 

MFM FC and Plateau United dropped down to the CAF Confederations Cup after they failed to progress in their last round of qualifiers of the CAF Champions League.

MFM FC will now face Djoliba AC de Bamako of Mali, while Plateau Utd will face USM Alger of Algeria to progress to the group stage.

CAF also conducted the draws for the group s5tage of the CAF Champions League.

 

The Nigerian representatives in the continent will play their first leg matches on either the 6th, 7th or 8th of April and the return leg matches will be played on the 17th or 18th of April.
