Super Eagles goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa is happy with the scheduled friendlies against Poland and Serbia.

Ezenwa believes that the grade A friendlies are the sort of matches the Super Eagles need in their preparation process for the upcoming World Cup.

The Enyimba shot-stopper revealed in an interview with Goal that the scheduled friendlies will give him and his teammates "Confidence" going into the World Cup proper.

He said, "I think it's a good one because it is a game that would bring more confidence to the team - playing two international friendly games before the World Cup - not only the two, we are playing five,"

Ezenwa previously hoped he would be fit for the friendly games after he was injured with the home based Eagles at the 2018 African Nations Championship, and expressed his readiness for action.

He said, "I'm fit now and I'm focused. World Cup is around the corner, everybody has to keep in shape and get set,"

Ezenwa who is among the 28 players invited by Gernot Rohr for the March friendlies, shared his opinion about the preparation process as well as how the Eagles will navigate the world Cup goup stage.

Speaking about the group stage Ezenwa said, “The most important thing still remains winning our first two games against Croatia and Iceland to qualify before playing Argentina.”

Nigeria were drawn in group D of the 2018 World Cup, alongside Argentina, Iceland and Croatia.

The Super Eagles take on Poland on Friday, March 23 in Wroclaw and then play against Serbia on Tuesday, March 27 in England.
