Ikouwem Udoh: Enyimba defender appointed Flying Eagles captain
The Flying Eagles are in Egypt for a two-match tour to prepare for the AFCON qualifiers.
Enyimba defender Ikouwem Udoh has been appointed captain of the Flying Eagles by head coach Paul Aigbogun.
Ikouwem Udoh who was impressive at left back for the home-based Super Eagles at the 2018 African Nations Championships (CHAN) and has been selected to use his experience to lead his teammates
The 18-year-old is regarded as a Super Eagles prospect and has been in good form for Enyimba since he returned from CHAN.
The 18-year-old will be assisted by Nazifi Yahaya of Kano Pillars striker and Valentine Ozonwofor also from Enyimba.
The Flying Eagles are currently in Egypt for a two-match tour in preparation for the 2018 African Nations Cup Under 20 qualifiers.
The two-match tour of Egypt is to prepare for the qualifier against either Sierra Leone or Guinea Bissau which is scheduled for May.
Semi-finalists at the African U-20 competition will represent the continent at the FIFA U-20 World Cup in 2019.
Nigeria has never lifted the FIFA U-20 World Cup but got to the final at the 1989 and 2005 editions.
