Filmone and Filmhouse Cinemas Announce 4D Cinema and More IMAX Locations in the Coming Years

The Vice President led a public-private investment delegation to showcase Nigeria’s improved business structure and operations, particularly in the Entertainment and Technology sector.

Filmhouse Cinemas and FilmOne Distribution & Production continues to expand its reach and contributions to the Creative Industry, this time aiding His Excellency, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo by organising a visit to Hollywood, Los Angeles in the United States of America.

The Vice President led a public-private investment delegation to showcase Nigeria’s improved business structure and operations, particularly in the Entertainment and Technology sector, to a host of investors and business leaders from these sectors. The Government turned to entertainment industry leader, Filmhouse and FilmOne, to lead discussions and give a presentation on the film and cinema landscape in Nigeria.

Managing Director of FilmOne, Moses Babatope, delivered a presentation and had this to say about the event:

As an industry leader, FilmOne is so humbled and privileged by this opportunity to accompany the Vice President and contribute the efforts to position our industry and our country as a heavyweight in global conversations on Entertainment and Technology.

"We are looking forward to continued work with the Federal Government on what is an ingenious initiative. We would like to thank His Excellency, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo for this opportunity. We are also appreciative to our studio and industry partners who attended the summit and look forward to working with them even closer as our country grows into the global entertainment leader we all know it can be.

Also in attendance were music superstar, Tuface Idibia, Ebonylife Media CEO Mo Abudu, CEO of Terra Kulture and foremost theatre entrepreneur Bolanle Austen-Peters, Stella Albright of Silverbird Group, Chocolate City Group Boss Audu Maikori, Music Video Director Sesan Ogunro, the Director- General of the NFC, the Director-General of the Nigeria Tourism Development Board (NTDB), the CEO of the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC), delegates from the Nigerian Bank of Industry (BOI).

We also had a plethora of Hollywood Studio Executives including:

Kieran Breen (President, International Marketing, Twentieth Century Fox/BAFTA Chairman, L.A), Bryan Song (Senior Vice President, International Distribution, Twentieth Century Fox), Helen Moss (Senior Vice President, International Distribution, Paramount Pictures), John Fithian (CEO, National Association of Theater Owners NATO), Karen Mbanefo (Vice-President of Production Planning Twentieth Century Fox), Mary Ann Hughes (Vice President of Production Planning, Walt Disney), Monique Esclavissat (Executive Vice President, Local Acquisitions and Productions), Fumbi Chima (Chief Information Officer, Fox Networks Group), as well as Craig Dehmel (Head of Global Distribution, Imax Entertainment), Shehu Garba (Chief of Staff, Imax Corporation) and Ozi Menakaya, Benjamin Kramer and Akshay Mehta from the Creative Artists Association (CAA).
