Premier League legend Thierry Henry has agreed to become Aston Villa manager according to several reports from England.

With new owners Billionaire duo Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens at Villa, there have been speculations over the future of current manager Steve Bruce.

Reports emerged on Monday that Sawiris and Edens have agreed on a deal with Henry for the Frenchman to become Villa’s manager.

The former Arsenal star is currently an assistant coach under Roberto Martinez at Belgium but is looking to get his own job.

He recently quit his job as a pundit at Sky Sports to focus on his coaching career.

Bruce, however, is very keen to remain at the Aston Villa.

I made myself clear two weeks ago when I said, 'Look, whatever the state the club is in I think it needs me',” Villa manager is quoted to say by Daily Mail.

The new owners might want to have their own man in. All the indications are that that's not the case but until I get in front of them we won't know.

“This feels like I'm just starting again. We've lost something like seven or eight players who played in the play-off final so it feels like we're starting over again.

"But we've still got some very good players at the club and I hope that I get given the chance - but that's not my choice.”

Aston Villa narrowly missed out on promotion to the Premier League last season after losing the Championship play-off Final 0-1 to Fulham.
