Victor Osimhen: Former Golden Eaglets star joins Royal Charleroi Sporting in Belgium
Wolfsburg have loaned out Victor Osimhen to Royal Charleroi Sporting to get more minutes and continue his development.
Former Golden Eaglets star forward Victor Osimhen has completed a loan move from German Bundesliga outfit Wolfsburg to Belgian First Division A club Royal Charleroi Sporting Club.
The 19-year-old forward joined Wolfsburg after his exploits at the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup where the Nigerian team emerged champions.
At the tournament, Osimhen emerged as the top scorer, and silver ball winner, he was tipped to achieve greater things.
He has unable to break into the first team at Wolfsburg making only a total of 14 appearances for Wolfsburg.
The German club released a statement on their official website to confirm his loan move.
The statement read, “Osimhen, the fifth player to leave VfL Wolfsburg this summer, will remain with Charleroi until the end of the season.
“The Wallonia-based outfit finished the 2017/18 campaign in sixth place, but are currently languishing in the tenth position in the Jupiler Pro League after four rounds of matches.
“Nineteen-year-old striker Osimhen, who has one senior international cap for Nigeria, joined the Wolves at the beginning of 2016, making 14 appearances for the club in all competitions.”
Osihmen will hope to revive his career at Charleroi and should be available when they take on Kortrijk in their next encounter scheduled for Saturday, August 25.
