Flying Eagles to face Ghana, Niger Republic and Benin Republic at WAFU U20 Cup
Nigeria will participate at the upcoming 2018 WAFU U-20 Cup to prepare for the 2019 U-20 AFCON.
Nigeria’s U20 national team Flying Eagles will face Ghana, Niger Republic, and Benin Republic at the WAFU U20 Cup.
The eight-nation tournament is set to hold in Lome, capital of Togo from Thursday, November 6 till Sunday, November 16.
The draw for the tournament was held on Sunday, November 11 as the eight teams were grouped into two groups of four each.
WAFU U-20 groups
Group A - Hosts Togo, Cote d’Ivoire, Burkina Faso, and Senegal
Group B – Nigeria, Ghana, Niger Republic, and the Benin Republic
The West Africa Football Union (WAFU) have organized the regional tournament for the eight teams in preparation for the 2019 Africa U20 Cup of Nation which is scheduled to hold from Saturday, February 2 till Sunday, February 17.
The eight teams that are through to the U-20 AFCON are Nigeria, Senegal, Burkina Faso, Ghana, Niger Republic, Tanzania, Burundi, and Angola.
The Flying Eagles beat Mauritius to book a place at the AFCON and will begin their WAFU Campaign against Benin on Friday, December 7 face the Junior Mena of Niger Republic on Sunday, December 9.
Then finish their group campaign against Black Satellites of Ghana on Wednesday, December 12th all games at the Stade Municipal.
