The game at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba ended in a goalless draw as the Ugandan defence proved to be impenetrable for the entirety of the game.

Chukwueze was handed a rare start in the encounter by Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr alongside former strike partner at youth level Victor Osihmen.

Both Chukwueze and Osihmen were both shipped out at halftime against Uganda as they were unable to find the back of the net and were replaced by Watford striker Isaac Success and Bordeaux winger Samuel Kalu.

Chukwueze previously played for the Nigerian U-17 team that won the FIFA U-17 World Cup in 2015.

The youngster will hope to be invited for the Super Eagles next clash when they take on the Seychelles in their last 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier scheduled for March.

Chukwueze who is among the top talents in LaLiga is expected to return to action when Villareal take on Real Betis Balompie in their next league fixture on Sunday, November 25.
