Benitez, Son win Premier League monthly awards

The Premier League have announced the winners of the awards for the month of November.

Newcastle United boss Rafa Benitez has emerged the winner of the Manager of the Month award for November.

Benitez was announced the winner on Friday, November 14 and he replaces Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe who won the award in October.

Benotez beat Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola, Liverpool's Jurgen Klopp two managers leading the league to the award.

 

Other nominees include Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino, Everton manager Maro Silva and Huddersfield Town boss David Wagner.

Benite won the three games Newcastle played in November and his Manager of the Month award is his seventh overall.

Speaking to the Premier League about the award, he said, "Obviously I would like to win more manager-of-the-months then we would be in a better position in the table.

 

"But it's always positive and it is good also for the staff. Everybody is helping you and it is an extra motivation."

Goal of the Month

Tottenham forward Son Heung-min strike for Tottenham Hotspur in the London Derby against Chelsea has emerged the winner of the Premier League goal of the month for November.

Speaking about the goal to the Premier League website he said, "One of the best goals in my career because it was a London derby, a big game.

 

"I was so excited to play Chelsea and score such a beautiful goal."

Son's strike beat eight other goals which includes Ilkay Gundogan's effort in the Manchester Derby against United, Trent Alexander-Arnold for Liverpool against Watford, Junior Hoilett's goal for Cardiff against Wolverhampton Wanderers

Other nominees are Leroy Sane's goal against West Ham is nominated alongside Richarlison's goal for Everton against Brighton and Hove Albion, Salomon Rondon's goal for Newcastle United against Bournemouth and Stuart Armstrong's goal for Southampton against Fulham.
